Dr. Michael Duggan currently works as a Counselor/Professor at College of DuPage (COD), where he is well known for his expertise and passion for empowering students with disabilities. He serves the college community as a teacher, advocate, counselor, advisor, and mentor to both students and faculty. Before coming to COD, he directed the second largest college Disability Services program in Oregon at Chemeketa Community College for many years. There he was also elected as President of the Oregon Association of Higher Education and Disability, advocating for improved services for college students with disabilities.
His most recent accomplishments in Illinois Include:
-Serving on the Executive Board of COD’s
Vocational Skills Program, the first of its kind in Illinois that provides classes and job training to people with developmental disabilities
-Completing his doctorate of education from
National-Louis University based on research into effective teaching and intervention strategies for students with disabilities in higher education
